Philip Mettam
I joined Meridian in Autumn 2010 as a Trainee Associate after graduating from Plymouth University.
After 4 years studying, focussed particularly on pollution and microbiology, I had a solid understanding of statistical analysis and report writing. I was eager to take my skills and pursue a career in business and was offered a training contract at Meridian in October 2010.
Since joining Meridian I have worked on deals in a range of sectors including insurance claims management, retail, IT, Marine, Construction and Maintenance.
I have experience in all aspects of corporate finance providing support for the Partners and Associates on company disposals, mergers and acquisitions, MBO/MBIs, and fundraising.
I am studying accountancy in Southampton during the evenings and weekends to supplement the training and experience I am being given in-house.

My areas of interest
Having focussed my studies in science, I have a personal interest in scientific and technology based businesses, particularly in the biotechnology and medical sectors. In addition to my academic interests I have previously worked in the cycle industry and have a personal interest in businesses operating in sports and leisure sectors.
