About the deal

Meridian advised the Shareholders of Hampshire based Powertecnique Limited (“Powertecnique”) on the sale of their company to Italian manufacturer Riello UPS (“Riello”).

Powertecnique are specialist suppliers and installers of uninterruptible power supply (“UPS”) and diesel generator systems for critical power applications and harsh environments.

Founded in 1991 Powertecnique have grown to become one of the UK's leading independent providers of critical power equipment with an unwavering commitment to quality and service.

Riello are a world leader in the manufacturing of UPS hardware.

Meridian have been working with Powertecnique since the original management buy-out in 2009. Commenting on the transaction Darren Pearce, Managing Director of Powertecnique comments, “We have been in business for over 25 years and it was vital for us to engage with Meridian again. They have continuously given us the comfort to entrust them with our most valuable asset, ‘Powertecnique’.

The sale was supported by Nick Gent, Partner at Trethowans, who were the legal advisers to Powertecnique and Taylor Wessing who provided legal advice to Riello.
